Zhangjiajie Peaks & Valleys
Zhangjiajie is a landscape of sandstone pillars and forested valleys, and the park is organised as a shuttle system with viewpoint stops. The programme is built around that system: fewer stops, earlier starts, and enough time at each viewpoint for the group to actually look.
The route in outline
- Park entry and shuttle transfer to the first viewpoint area
- Viewpoint walks among the pillars, with photo stops
- A valley section with a shorter walking option for anyone who needs it
- Group photograph and free time before the return transfer
Why groups choose it
It is the most distinctive landscape on our programme list, and it works well as the visual centre of a longer China series. The walking can be adjusted: viewpoint paths are short, while the valley sections take longer and involve steps.
Practical notes
Mist and rain change visibility within hours, and stone steps become slippery. We keep one flexible morning in every Zhangjiajie programme and tell the group leader the alternative plan at the evening briefing.
